Xbox One to monitor TV viewing, content watched, number of viewers
Xbox One will monitor users’ content viewing in a number of ways.

Microsoft’s next-generation console has applied for a patent offering users Xbox 360-like achievements for watching specific content and adverts, reports Gamesindustry International.

The console’s Kinect 2 will also employ DRM measures to prevent more people than the license allows viewing the content at one go, as per another patent filed last year.

If Kinect senses too many people in the room, it will prompt the users to upgrade the license.

“Television viewing tends to be a passive experience for a viewer, without many opportunities for the viewer to engage or have interactive experiences with the presented content,” the application for the achievements reads.

“To increase interactive viewing and encourage a user to watch one or more particular items of video content, awards and achievements may be tied to those items of video content.”

Drug tests for unemployment benefits approved
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Workers who lose their jobs would have to clear a drug screening to qualify for unemployment compensation under a proposal approved by the Texas Legislature.

Under current law, employers take out insurance policies to help laid-off workers survive on weekly payments of $62 to $440. Those who are fired for cause, including failing an employer-sponsored drug test, do not qualify.

The changes approved Saturday would require laid-off workers to fill out state questionnaires. Answers considered suspicious would lead to drug tests. Workers who fail would lose their benefits.

Republican Sen. Tommy Williams said the program will help maintain a competent workforce.

Democrats have blocked a separate measure that would have required drug testing for welfare recipients. But the bill targeting unemployed workers will now go to the governor.

Mississippi considers prosecuting women for stillbirths and miscarriages due to willful negligence
The Supreme Court of Mississippi is currently considering a case that could lead to charges of manslaughter for women who suffer miscarriages or stillbirths.

Nina Buckhalter was indicted for manslaughter in 2009 after giving birth to a stillborn baby girl named Hayley 31 weeks into her pregnancy.

According to a Mother Jones report, those charges were based on the detection of methamphetamines in Buckhalter’s system, which led a grand jury in Mississippi to declare that the defendant “did willfully, unlawfully, feloniously, kill Hayley Jade Buckhalter, a human being, by culpable negligence.”

Next Generation 3-D Printed Gun Fires Nine Shots, Costs $25
When high tech gunsmith group Defense Distributed test-fired the world’s first fully 3D-printed firearm earlier this month, some critics dismissed the demonstration as expensive and impractical, arguing it could only be done with a high-end industrial 3D printer and that the plastic weapon wouldn’t last more than a single shot. Now a couple of hobbyists have proven them wrong on both counts.

California Police Kill Again, Hit Restrained Man In The Head At Least 10 Times With A Baton
A man taken into custody by the Sacramento Police Department has died, according to the police department.

Video obtained by CBS13 of the arrest on the 8300 block of Folsom Boulevard shows a suspect being restrained by a male officer’s legs, while a female officer strikes him 10 times with a baton.

British Students Asked If They Will Shoot Protesters
Students at British Prime Minister David Cameron’s alma mater, Eton College, were asked if they would shoot protesters.

The question was posed as part of an exam to win one of fourteen King’s Scholarships at the prestigious boarding school in 2011.

100 patients a day wait an hour in an ambulance before they reach emergency rooms
Up to 100 patients a day are being forced to wait more than an hour in ambulances outside overstretched A&E units.
More than 37,000 people needing urgent treatment were held in so-called ambulance ‘jams’ last year – with delays of up to four hours recorded at some hospitals.
The latest number is more than double the 14,580 who waited to be admitted in 2010-11, despite official guidelines that say patients should be handed over to medical staff within 15 minutes of arrival.

Shortage of doctors in England’s worst hospitals is ‘costing thousands of lives’, according to new study
Thousands of patients are dying due to a lack of doctors in England’s worst hospitals, according to a new study.
Hospitals currently being investigated for having high death rates employ far fewer doctors per patient than others, academics have discovered.
While many think hospitals provide similar standards of care, the Plymouth University team found wide variations in staffing levels. A&E departments are particularly stretched, warn doctors.
Professor Sheena Asthana and Dr Alex Gibson made their conclusions after looking at staffing in 14 hospital trusts recently identified as having high death rates.

French study reveals men see tattooed women as sluts that are advertising to give away sex
The article tries to “politically correct” the discovery… but the headline I placed above is the final results of the study.

Just call it easy ink..

Men believe that women with tattoos – and particularly ‘tramp stamps’ – are more likely to sleep with a man on a first date, a study has found.

The study, from France’s Université de Bretagne-Sud in France, found several conflicting nuggets of information, including that men surveyed were more likely to ask a girl out if they had a tattoo, but also believed them to be “loose.”

Teacher strip-searched female students during exam because she suspected them of cheating with a cellphone
High school students suspected of cheating on final exams were subjected to a strip-search by their teacher who was looking for a missing cell phone.

An internal investigation is underway at Cap-Jeunesse High School, in Saint-Jerome, Quebec, regarding the May 24 incident which involved 28 students.

According to reports, during a math exam, the teacher asked all the students to hand in their cellphones to avoid cheating.

Teacher Faces Discipline For Advising Students Of Their Constitutional Rights
A Batavia High School teacher’s fans are rallying to support him as he faces possible discipline for advising students of their Constitutional rights before taking a school survey on their behavior.

They’ve been collecting signatures on an online petition, passing the word on Facebook, sending letters to the school board, and planning to speak at Tuesday’s school board meeting.

Students and parents have praised his ability to interest reluctant students in history and current affairs.

The rise of fascism via the use of public schools

The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America

The Protected Predator Class

In Utah, as elsewhere in the Soyuz, “battering” a police officer is considered an especially grievous crime. Until earlier this year, this offense was treated as a Class A misdemeanor. Under SB 131, a measure enacted earlier this year by the state legislature, it is now a class C felony.

Any incidental contact between a Mundane and the sanctified personage of a police officer – including the act of breathing on an officer – can be prosecuted as “battery.” This would apply to cases in which a woman is desperately trying to prevent an officer from violating her sexually: A victim who puts up resistance in such circumstances can expect to be violently subdued, arrested, and charged with “assaulting an officer.”

‘Common Core’ Nationalizes and Dumbs Down Public School Curriculum
In addition to shredding civil liberties, launching a utopian global war for democracy, and going on a spending spree that would make LBJ blush, the so-called “conservative” Bush administration dramatically increased federal control over education via the “No Child Left Behind” act. During my time in Congress I heard nothing but complaints about this law from teachers, administrators, and, most importantly, students and parents. Most of the complaints concerned No Child Left Behind’s testing requirements, which encouraged educators to “teach to the test.”

Sadly, but not surprisingly, instead of improving education by repealing No Child Left Behind’s testing and other mandates, the Obama administration is increasing national control over schools via the “Common Core” initiative. Common Core is a new curriculum developed by a panel of so-called education experts. The administration is trying to turn Common Core into a national curriculum by offering states increased federal education funding if they impose Common Core’s curriculum on their public schools. This is yet another example of the government using money stolen from the people to bribe states into obeying federal dictates.

Scotland: Every Child to Have “State Guardian” From Birth
Every child in Scotland is to be assigned a “state minder” from birth under draconian new proposals that would enable the government to spy on families under the justification of preventing “child abuse”.

Writing in the Scotsman of how he penned a dystopian novel based around this very scenario of every child being assigned a government mentor, sociology and criminology lecturer at the University of Abertay Dundee Stuart Walton writes, “Unfortunately, this dystopian future has arrived a little faster than I imagined, as last week the Scottish Government’s plan to give every child a state guardian from birth was launched.”

“This state-appointed overseer will be a specific, named individual, and every child will have one, from birth. The responsibility for creating this named guardian will fall on the heads of the health boards for the first five years of a child’s life, before being transferred to councils.”

Motorist performs citizen’s arrest on policeman and locks him in his own marked van after seeing him ‘drink driving’

Russell George made a citizen’s arrest after spotting the traffic officer driving erratically in the town of Pietermaritzburg.
Mr George phoned the police after the initial encounter with the unnamed officer’s marked vehicle on Sunday evening before he was forced to taken action into his own hands.

Illinois Illegally Seizes Bees Resistant To Roundup, Kills Remaining Queens
The Illinois Ag Dept. illegally seized privately owned bees from renowned naturalist, Terrence Ingram, without providing him with a search warrant and before the court hearing on the matter, reports Prairie Advocate News.

Behind the obvious violations of his Constitutional rights is Monsanto. Ingram was researching Roundup’s effects on bees, which he’s raised for 58 years. “They ruined 15 years of my research,” he told Prairie Advocate, by stealing most of his stock.

Detroit cop goes on trial for killing 7-year old girl
A Detroit police officer charged with fatally shooting a 7-year-old girl while she was asleep on her couch will stand trial in June. The fatal gunshot was recorded by a reality TV crew, which was filming an episode of “The First 48.”

Aiyana Stanley-Jones, a 7-year-old girl from Detroit, was shot in the head while a SWAT team conducted a midnight raid of her two-story home, tossed a flash grenade through a window, fired the bullet that killed her, and burst through the front door on May 16, 2010.

Cop keeps job after brutal restaurant attack leaves victim in critical condition
A Minneapolis, Minnesota police officer with a history of violence is out of jail and on paid home assignment after allegedly beating a man into critical condition while off the clock.

Sgt. David Clifford is still on the force even after the man he pummeled nearly two weeks earlier remains hospitalized. Brian Vander Lee, 43, has received two separate brain surgeries after an altercation with the 47-year-old Minneapolis Police SWAT Unit officer earlier this month almost ended in tragedy.

Police Shoot & Kill Grandfather While Responding To Burglary Call
A grandfather checking on his neighbor is shot and killed by Fort Worth police. The shots rang out early Tuesday morning near Woodhaven Country Club, in east Fort Worth.

Those close to the family say the victim lived nearby and heard his neighbor’s burglar alarm. Neighbor Jerry Wayne Waller then apparently went outside to see what was going on.

The 72-year-old man didn’t even make it to the house across the street before he was shot. He died on his own property.

The neighbors in the Woodhaven Country Club area and generally know each other pretty well. Becky Haskin, a former Fort Worth City Councilmember, lives in the area and said she believes Waller, “…was doing what neighbors do probably checking on the neighbor that the alarm went off.”

Texas Police Tase Overweight Asthmatic to Death in Drug Raid That Uncovers No Drugs
On May 16th, Forth Worth police entered the home of Jarmaine Darden, 34, in search of cocaine. The raid, which does not appear to have uncovered any cocaine, ended with the 34-year-old father dead after police tased him multiple times.

Family members told CBS 11 that the 350-pound man, who’d been asleep on the couch when police came in, couldn’t drop to the ground on his stomach as officers commanded because he suffered from asthma.

Yearbook Prank Leads to 17-year-old Columbia Student’s Arrest – To be charged with a felony for changing a last name to “masturbate”
A Columbia high school student faces a possible felony charge after her arrest for changing a classmate’s name in the school yearbook to a sexually suggestive term.

The 17-year-old Hickman High School junior was arrested May 14 after she allegedly changed a student’s last name from Mastain to “masturbate” in the 100th edition of the Hickman Cresset yearbook. She could be charged with first-degree property damage, a felony, and harassment.

Kindergartner Forced To Apologise For Brandishing Tiny Lego Gun – 6-year-old given detention for “traumatizing” other kids
A six-year-old kindergarten student was punished by school officials and forced to apologise after he “caused quite a disturbance” on the school bus by playing with a tiny plastic toy gun Friday.

Mieke Crane, the child’s mother, told reporters at WGGB-TV that she received a letter from teachers at Old Mill Pond Elementary in Palmer, Mass. explaining that another child on the bus had yelled to the driver that her son had a gun.

The letter noted that other children on the bus were “traumatized” by the experience.

The reason this occurs is because the people are ingraining a near-psychotic fear of guns. The absolute insanity of this is equivalent to having children screaming in fear every time they see a toaster… or a picture of a toaster… or hear the word “toaster”.

By the way… as crazy as that sounds, it’s starting to happen with “pressure cookers”.

Government Orders Midwives to Spy on ‘Racist’ Parents
The Scottish government has ordered midwives in hospitals to spy on potentially racist parents as part of an Orwellian program that will also encourage children to report their parents to social workers by giving them a rating out of ten.

“The project is part of the sinister Big Brother-style system of state meddling called Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) which is being quietly rolled out across Scotland,” reports the Express.

Parents are “being secretly judged on their views on race and diversity” by maternity staff to assess their suitability for bringing up their child. If alarm bells are raised, a further investigation asks if the parents “respect and value diversity” and give “due prominence to their racial, ethnic and cultural heritage”.

Schools scanned students’ irises without permission
Parents in Polk County, Florida are outraged after learning that students in area schools had their irises scanned as part of a new security program without obtaining proper permission.

Students at three facilities — an elementary school, a grade school and a high school — had their eyeballs scanned earlier this month as part of a ‘student safety’ pilot program being carried out by Stanley Convergent Security Solutions.

“It simply takes a picture of the iris, which is unique to every individual,” Rob Davis, the school board’s senior director of support services, wrote home to parents in a letter dated May 23. “With this program, we will be able to identify when and where a student gets on the bus, when they arrive at their school location, when and what bus the student boards and disembarks in the afternoon. This is an effort to further enhance the safety of our students. The EyeSwipe-Nano is an ideal replacement for the card based system since your child will not have to be responsible for carrying an identification card,” he added.

School District Teaching Students How To Share HIV/STD Statuses Via Text Message
The Los Angeles Unified School District is taking part in a program to educate middle and high school students about how to share their HIV and STD statuses with their cell phones.

Health teachers in grades 7 through 12 had access to information regarding the services provided by since the program debuted earlier this year, LAUSD officials said.

Described by district officials as a sex education prevention resource accessed by secondary health teachers, allows users to obtain, store and privately share their health records and HIV/STD statuses.

California Cops Kill AGAIN: Taser Then Shoot Man to Death After Family Calls 911 For Help For His Depression
A California sheriff’s deputy needlessly Tasered and then shot a man to death after his father called 911 seeking help for his son’s depression, the family claims in court.

Parents and two brothers of the late George I. Ramirez sued Stanislaus County, its sheriff’s department, Sheriff Adam Christianson, and Deputy Art Parra Jr. in Federal Court.

George Ramirez, the father, says he called 911 on April 16, 2012, seeking help for his son. Ramirez says in the complaint that he told the 911 operator that his son was depressed, but never said that the family was in danger or that a crime was in progress.

Obama To Sign International Gun Control Treaty On June 3rd
The ATT passed in the U.N. General Assembly by a vote of 153-4 on April 2.

This treaty is ostensibly aimed at putting an end to gun trafficking across international boundaries, and both Breitbart News and the NRA have argued that it will eventually require an international gun registry in order to be enforceable.

The ATT also provides the executive branch of our government with broad powers for controlling which guns do and don’t come into the country, and includes ambiguous language that a gun-control-friendly administration can use to its advantage.

Editor’s note: It should be noted that the cops were engaged in a violation of the Fourth Amendment.

New York City police officers arrested a woman who was video recording them from a public sidewalk as they conducted some type of “vehicle safety checkpoint.”

The officers apparently stole a memory card from a camera, which turned out to be the wrong one, allowing us to view the video.

D.C. fined $1000 for using unregistered gun to shoot pit bull attacking boy
Authorities last week made an agreement not to prosecute a Northwest D.C. man who used his unregistered handgun to kill a pit bull in order to stop it from mauling a child in his neighborhood.

As part of the agreement, Benjamin Srigley, 39, was required to pay a $1,000 fine but will not have criminal charges filed against him for the three unregistered firearms and the ammunition that investigators found in his possession, said Ted Gest, a spokesman for the office of the attorney general.

Akron Man Shot To Death By Campus Police During Traffic Stop
A 64-year old Akron man was shot to death by a University of Akron police officer on Thursday, May 16, 2013. The victim, James Genda, had been pulled over for a routine traffic stop and was trying to turn a BB gun over to the officer when the officer mistook it for a .45-caliber handgun.

Genda was on his cell phone with his sister, Debbie Genda, when he was pulled over by a University of Akron police officer for improper vehicle registration. Genda was stopped just outside the local post office where his sister works and she witnessed the entire event from her office window.

Denver Cops Arrest Italian Shotgun Manufacturer as a Terrorist
Daniele Perazzi was arrested on Saturday after a cab driver turned him into police as a terrorist. The Perazzi Shotguns executive was taken into custody by Adams County Deputies outside of the Denver Merchandise Mart where the annual Colorado Gun Collectors Show was held over the weekend. The show is a noted venue for the finest collectors firearms in the world.

“He loaded prototype shotguns into the cab on the way to the Merchandise Mart,” gun rights activist and newly-elected National Rifle Association Director Steve Schreiner told Gun Rights Examiner on Sunday. “The cab driver notified law enforcement he suspected he had a terrorist in his cab, and they were waiting to intercept him, evidently oblivious to the fact that he was arriving at a highly-publicized area gun show.”

Perazzi’s lawyers told the police the gun firm executive was not a terrorist but “the owner of one of the most expensive shotgun companies in the world,” Schreiner said.

Deputies Watch Woman Die In Court, Refused To Give Her Asthma Medicine
A woman died on a courthouse floor because Alabama sheriff’s deputies refused to give her her medicine – after arresting her for an old traffic ticket, the woman’s daughter claims in court.

Ayunna Johnae London sued St. Clair County Sheriff Terry Surles, jail administrators Austin Nash and Terry Marcrum, Southern Healthcare Partners, and its employee Jennifer Eisel, in Federal Court.

California Police Beat Man Nearly To Death For Asking To Read His Ticket
A Berkeley truck driver is suing the California High Patrol for a brutal assault that brought him to the brink of death — provoked, according to a report by the local NBC affiliate, only by the man’s request to read the ticket he was being given before he signed it.

On September 2nd, 2011, Russian immigrant Olegs Kozacenko was driving his truck when he was pulled over by Officer Andrew P. Murrill of the California Highway Police. Murrill attempted to ticket him for driving too many hours in the truck. Kozacenko refused to sign the ticket before reading it.

TX Man Transporting Unloaded Firearms Through NJ Doing 3-5 Years In Prison
A TX man, who was in the process of moving to Maine, made a very simple mistake, and never made it to his hew home. Dustin Reininger is serving a 3-5 year prison sentence in the Garden State because he made a mistake, he stopped to take a nap in NJ during his multi day drive from Texas to Maine.

Police approached Reininger’s car when he was taking a nap near a bank in Readington, NJ.

Police then searched the suspect’s vehicle after seeing gun cases laying in the back seat and found the man’s personal gun collection, which was being transported in the car. This included 14 rifles, 4 shotguns and 3 handguns along with hollow point ammunition (which is extremely illegal in NJ). Reininger was arrested, convicted and sentenced to 5 years in prison, with a chance for parole after 3.

MILITARY SUFFERS WAVE OF ‘GAY’ SEX ASSAULTS – ‘We’ve got a male-on-male problem here’
A recent military report on sexual assault in the military shocked many in Washington and around the nation, but a leading expert on military personnel revealed the prevalence of men assaulting other men is one of the major headlines in this study.

The extended analysis of the report first appeared in Monday’s edition of the the Washington Times.

The Defense Department survey of sexual assault in the military during fiscal 2012 estimated 26,000 assaults took place in the armed forces. Nearly 3,000 of them were formally reported. Just more than 6 percent of women reported being victims of assault and 1.2 percent of men said the same. Given the much larger number of men in the military, those numbers suggest 14,000 of the assaults in the Pentagon study happened to men.

Among the assaults formally reported, 88 percent of reports came from women and 12 percent from men. The numbers are getting dramatically worse.

Cops Being Trained That Cell Phones Could Be Guns – New tactic attempts to limit YouTube clips of police brutality
A recent case where a police officer attempted to seize a cell phone by claiming it could be a weapon underscores how cops are now being trained to treat phones as potential guns in an underhanded effort to prevent people from recording police activity.

As a result of the numerous legal cases that have proven recording police officers is not a crime, authorities are getting more creative in attempting to stop abuse by law enforcement offices ending up as a viral video on YouTube.

Papers Please: TSA-Style Checkpoints at UK Bus & Train Stations
Travel by train, tram or bus to destinations in central England and you are increasingly likely to be greeted by Britain’s ‘yellowjackets’: the high-visibility uniforms of Britain’s police force.

‘Airport-style’ security checkpoints are being rolled out at local bus and train stations up and down the UK after local pilot schemes conducted over the last two years were deemed a success by police.

The checkpoints comprise metal detector arches, drug-sniffing dogs , police pat-downs and bag searches. The reason? To “help people who use public transport feel safer.”

YOU ARE CRAZY: New Psychiatric Guidelines Target Hoarding, Child Temper Tantrums, and a Host of Other “Illnesses”
It’s not a stretch to suggest that Americans are over medicated. In 2011 doctors across the nation wrote an astounding four billion medical prescriptions, amounting to an average of 13 prescriptions for every man, woman and child in the United States.

In the next few weeks the American Psychiatric Associations is releasing their updated fifth version their Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5); the so-called ‘bible’ of psychiatric diagnoses. The new manual promises to take mental illness and the use of prescription drugs to a whole new level.

You may not be considered “crazy” or “mentally ill” today, but under the new guidelines experts say half of us will be diagnosed with a psychiatric condition in the future.

Hello Xbox One, Goodbye Freedom
Microsoft’s big Xbox One reveal showed off a lot of new features coming to the console. However, underneath many of those features are limitations that have had gamers worried about the next generation of consoles for months. Expanded Kinect features, cloud computing aspects, and the ability to install retail games completely to the hard drive sound great for users, but the technology that makes them tick and how Microsoft will implement them signals a dark future for gamers who want to control what they buy and use.

Microsoft has been hesistant to give specific details about how these features will be implemented, but between bits of information Microsoft let slip to Wired and Polygon, and Kotaku’s recent interview with Microsoft vice president Phil Harrison, it doesn’t look good, and confirms some fears I’ve had for over a year.

U.S. acknowledges killing of four U.S. citizens in counterterrorism operations
The Obama administration Wednesday for the first time acknowledged killing four U.S. citizens in “counterterrorism operations” abroad.

The deaths of three of the Americans — Anwar al-Awlaki, his 16-year-old son Abd al-Rahman Anwar al-Awlaki, and Samir Khan, all of whom were killed in drone strikes in Yemen in 2011 — had been previously reported. The death of the fourth, Jude Kennan Mohammad, a Florida native apparently killed in Pakistan, had not been.

Florida Cops Plan to Harass Gun Show Attendees
The Tampa Bay Times reports that the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office plans to “strictly enforce a county law mandating background checks for all customers at gun shows” and close down private firearms sales between individuals.

Working closely with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will conduct an undercover operation at the Two Guys Gun Show in Largo, Florida this weekend.

The ATF has conducted numerous investigations of gun shows over the past decade. The ATF and the Justice Department claim gun shows are used by gangs and others, including Mexican drug cartels, to illegally peddle firearms used in murders and other criminal activity.

State of Connecticut Crafts “Special Act” to Hide Sandy Hook Evidence
If the Connecticut General Assembly is successful, we will never know details of what happened at the Sandy Hook elementary school in Newtown on December 14, 2012.

The Hartford Courant reports that the state’s top prosecutor and the governor’s office are working in secret with General Assembly leaders on legislation designed to withhold records related to the police investigation of the incident. If enacted, the legislation will hide from public scrutiny photos of victims, 911 call records and other evidence.

“There is complete agreement regarding photos etc., and audio tapes, although the act may allow the disclosure of audio transcripts,” a top assistant to Chief State’s Attorney Kevin Kane, Timothy J. Sugrue, told the Courant.

Man Linked to Boston Bombing Suspect Confesses to Murder, Gets Shot by FBI – Dead men tell no tales
The man supposedly linked to deceased Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev allegedly confessed to being involved in the murder of three people just before he was shot to death today by the FBI, sources told NBC News.

“Sources say that what began as a drug ripoff ended in a triple homicide when Tsarnaev and friend Ibragim Todashev realized their victims would later be able to identify them,” reports NBC.

According to law enforcement, after confessing to the three unsolved 2011 murders, Todashev used a knife to attack an FBI agent in an apartment complex in Orlando, Florida, prompting the agent to shoot and kill him. He reportedly “became violent as he was about to sign a written statement based on his confession.”

City Changes Parking Signs Then Issues Tickets To Cars That Had Been Parked Legally
Finding a parking spot in many major cities can be a pain in the butt, as you not only navigate the streets but have to be mindful of “No Parking,” “No Standing,” and any other number of signs that regulate where, and for how long, you can deposit your car. So once you find a spot and check all the signs, you should be good, right? Not if the city comes by and changes the signs on you.

Boy Scouts approve plan to accept openly gay boys
GRAPEVINE, Texas (AP) — The Boy Scouts of America threw open its ranks Thursday to gay Scouts but not gay Scout leaders – a fiercely contested compromise that some warned could fracture the organization and lead to mass defections of members and donors.

Of the roughly 1,400 voting members of the BSA’s National Council who cast ballots, 61 percent supported the proposal drafted by the governing Executive Committee. The policy change takes effect Jan. 1.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt has predicted that the company will be capable of developing artificial intelligence for its programs that will be indistinguishable from a human being within 5-10 years.

During a question and answer session at Google’s Big Tent event, which took place this week at the luxury Grove Hotel in Watford, UK, Schmidt responded to the question, “How soon before Google Now passes the Turing test?”

If Ronald McDonald Goes, Can Cap’n Crunch And SpongeBob SquarePants Be Far Behind?
Watchdog group, Corporate Accountability International (CAI), says Ronald McDonald is the reason so many American kids are obese and they want McDonald’s to force their mascot into early retirement. But let’s face it, is the red-headed clown really the cause of America’s obesity problem? And if he is, what about Cap’n Crunch, SpongeBob SquarePants, and the zillions of other cartoon characters used to target young consumers?

CAI has been badgering McDonald’s to provide proof that its efforts to create a more nutritious menu are producing positive results. In 2011, the group, along with 550 health institutions and professionals, challenged McDonald’s to stop using Ronald to market junk food to kids.

“Today, our family practice offices, pediatric clinics, and emergency rooms are filled with children suffering from conditions related to the food they eat. These health problems will likely play out over their lifetime through early onset of diabetes, heart disease and arthritis.” said Dr. Steven K. Rothschild, Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine at Rush Medical College. “Through this initiative the public health community is rallying behind a simple message to McDonald’s: stop making the next generation sick – retire Ronald and the rest of your junk food marketing to kids.”

Adam Kokesh Calls For “New American Revolution” – Imprisoned activist demands march on governors of 50 states
Imprisoned activist and former Marine Adam Kokesh – arrested last Saturday for exercising his First Amendment right at a protest – has called for a “new American revolution” to begin on July 4 with a march on all 50 state capitols.

Kokesh remains in a federal prison in Philadelphia on trumped up charges of assaulting a police officer and has been denied bail.

The former Iraq war veteran was already planning to lead a controversial armed march on Washington DC on Independence Day, but has rapidly expanded the scope of his plans, calling on an, “American Revolutionary Army (that) will march on each state capital to demand that the governors of these 50 states immediately initiate the process of an orderly dissolution of the federal government through secession and reclamation of federally held property.”
